Christopher Jacob Kasanga has completed his PhD in Virology and Molecular Biology, from the Department of Applied Biological Sciences and Emerging Infectious Diseases, Gifu University, Japan and Postdoc from Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease Surveillance, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. He has published more than 50 research papers and received many awards, the most recent being the Intermediate Fellowship in Public Health and Tropical Medicine Award from Wellcome Trust. His trusted areas are Virology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology with research interests in Functional Genomics, Molecular Genetics and Phylogenetics, Molecular Epidemiology, and Vaccinology, focusing on the development of novel control methods of infectious diseases of humans, animals and plants. Currently, he is rendering his service as Senior Lecturer and Wellcome Trust Fellow, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Section, Department of Microbiology and Parasitology, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania.
