Biography :  

Dr. Anuj Tyagi is currently working as Assistant Professor (Fish Microbiology) at Department of Aquatic Environment, College of Fisheries, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, Punjab, India. At present, his area of research includes study of microbial diversity, potential pathogens, disease diagnosis and prevention in aquatic environments. He is using next-generation sequencing (NGS) based metagenomics approach to discover novel microbes/functional gene in aquatic systems. He is also focused on development of rapid molecular assays for fish/shellfish disease diagnosis as well as phage based strategies for disease control. Apart from academic research, Dr. Tyagi also has strong technical proficiency with more than five years of hands-on biotech industry experience in cutting edge genomics (NGS, Microarrays, Genotyping), high-throughput screening and assay technologies. He also has bioinformatics skills for analysis of whole genome, transcriptome and metagenomics NGS datasets.
