Dr. Rong Di has completed her Ph. D in plant virology from Iowa State University. Her areas of research are Characterization of nutritional values of food and plant extracts with anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties. Molecular mechanism studies of plant extracts on anti-Alzheimer’s disease, anti-diabetes and wound-healing in mammalian cell and 2 model animal C. elegans systems, Detection of contaminating microorganisms in food and agricultural products, Using biotechnology to engineer crops for disease resistance and nutritional improvement. Currently she is Assistant Research Professor, Department of Plant Biology and Pathology, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Rutgers University.
