Biography :  

Dr. Michael Kluppel has completed his Ph.D from Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics, University of Toronto, Canada. His research focuses on the roles of the glycosaminoglycan chondroitin sulfate, and genes involved in its biosynthesis, in mammalian development, disease, and signaling pathways. His goal is the development of chondroitin sulfate-based pharmacological inhibitors of cancer progression through control of aberrantly activated oncogenic signaling pathways. He received many awards and honors, the most recent being “Medical Research Council (MRC) of Canada / Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Postdoctoral Fellowship”. Currently he is an Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University.
